COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 12, 2007) — Secure online registration is open for Strategic Space and Defense 2007, presented by the Space Foundation and Space News. This global security conference for space and defense professionals will take place at the Qwest Center Omaha Convention Center in Omaha, Neb., 9 – 11 October 2007.

Strategic Space and Defense is the definitive global security conference. Participants including the senior leadership of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), its component and supported commands and representatives of the national security industrial base are major participants in the program and related events. They will provide insight on the Command's mission, global activities, and relationships. This unique conference will also provide perspectives from allied partners, federal officials, and key aerospace industry leaders.

Highlights include an opening ceremony and reception; timely and enriching panel topics; a keynote luncheon; featured speeches; a vibrant exhibit center; and networking with key-decision makers. Featured panels at Strategic Space and Defense include Future Commands, International Perspectives, Space Situational Awareness, Frontline Views from the Command Chiefs, Missile Defense, Prompt Global Strike, and Intelligence Concerns for Global Security. Early speaker commitments are being gathered and announcements regarding the complete agenda will be made soon.

"We are aware of pending changes in key senior leadership positions and are working closely with the Command, our industry sponsors, and our conference partner Space News on the program agenda and speaker slate," said Space Foundation Senior Vice President for Policy and Public Affairs Steve Eisenhart. "This is a critical juncture and dynamic period for many global security issues, and Strategic Command’s role in addressing these issues will be central to the discussions in Omaha."

Secure registration is available online at www.StratSpace.org. The Web site is now live and will continue to be updated with a complete program agenda, and speaker, exhibitor, and sponsor lists.
